Objective: To provide a way for frequent orienteers to register and pay once for all events of the season. Also, to ensure that pre-printed maps are available for each meet which these season pass holders choose to attend.
Description:
The CAOC Season Pass, at a cost of $50, would provide a yearly individual club membership and registration at all regular meets throughout the year.
The Canoe-O, Night-O, and all Madnaess events are included.
All Season Pass holders also get free ePunch chip rental. If you already own an ePunch chip, great! You can continue to use your current chip. If you want to buy your own chip (so you know where it's been, and don't have to wait in line for a rental chip), e-mail the registrar, he will send you an e-mail invoice for $35, and a chip will be waiting for you at the next event.
FAQs
When can I buy the pass?
Season Passes may be purchased during the first 6 months of the year, for all remaining events of the calendar year. If the pass is purchased at an event, the pass is immediately in effect and payment for that event is not required. However, there are no refunds or retro-discounts for meets already paid for.
Where can I buy the pass?
Passes would be available on-line and at the events with a mail-in form for submitting payments. People are encouraged to sign-up on-line.
What do I do when I check in?
Take your photo ID to the registration area, where they will look your name up on the season pass list, and give you your pre-printed map.
What will the Meet Directors do?
Meet Directors would have a Season Pass list that would contain all season pass holders. They would simply check-off those pass holders that attended the meet and submit with their Meet Accounting Form.
How do I select a course?
Pass holders would select a default course to be used for the season. Unless the regisrar (registrar@chicago-orienteering.org) is notified of a course change 7 days prior to the event, the default course map will be printed.
What about my existing membership?
If you’ve already paid for your membership for a multi-year term, the pass simply extends your membership one year.
What about the Club Championships?
You’re now automatically included on your pre-selected course.
The Fine Print:
Add $5 for a family membership (contact the registrar to do this). Additional family members must register and pay for their events. Of course, they may also purchase their own season pass. There are no multiple season pass discounts for family members (everyone pays $50—they are already discounted).
