Details:
This is the second in our summer Sprint series, and we've got a special treat: Bike-O!
A map holder for your bike is highly recommended. (Options: REI Bar Map Holder, the Ziploc Solution,
sophisticated acrylic homebuilt,
Axis Gear holder, other gear vendors)
In addition to two sprint courses (which should take about 15-30 minutes each to finish), a simple mountain bike course will be available.
Bring your SI chip ("ePunch stick"). If you do not have one, they will be available puchase or rent at the meet site. As you may have noticed, more and more events are using the electronic punching and timing system. If you choose to use the old Tyvek punch cards (no charge), your time will not be calculated and your results will not be displayed on the web site.
The foot courses are likely to cross the Chicago river between bridges. The river is very low right now: knee-deep at most. A change of shoes and socks is recommended.
Public Transportation:
Take the Metra Milwaukee District North line out of Union Station. The 5:15 p.m. train arrives in Morton Grove at 5:42. Walk north
to registration (1/4 mile walk).
Driving Directions:
Take the Eden's Expwy (I-94) 6.1 miles north (west) of the Kennedy
(I-90) to Exit 37A (Dempster St. - west). Go west just
over a mile to the entrance to Linne Woods on the right (north)
side of road. Watch for the orange-and-white orienteering signs. If you are coming up I-294, remember that the Dempster ramps are closed. The Touhy and Willow exits are open, but with the construction, both could be very congested. Allow extra time.
