Thanks to everyone who came out. I would consider this the most successful Canoe-O meet, yet. We had 125 people participate, the most ever, and most of whom pre-registered, which made things move much more smoothly at registration and start/finish. Thank you so much! The weather was awesome: partly cloudy with a light breeze to keep things comfortable

Congratulations to Erik Martinez for completing the Long course in under an hour. Then, the next 5 teams were within 3 minutes of one another. Amazing! Similarly, the top 3 teams on the Medium course were within 2 minutes of one another.

Because of a mistake around the ePunch equipment, we had to use traditional pin punch. Thanks for everyone's flexibility around this, and thank you, especially, for those people who turned their ePunch rental fee into a tax-deductible donation to the orienteering club. Other than not having instant results with split times, it seemed to work out okay. I'm looking forward to going back to ePunch again next year.

There were a couple of people who weren't aware of the limited number of boats or the early and late start times, so we learned some lessons for next year. Sorry for the confusion. I appreciate your patience while we worked to get everyone in a boat. I don't think anyone had to wait longer than a half hour for a boat, which is also a great improvement over a few years ago when some folks had to wait over two hours for a boat.

There were a few teams that punched the wrong controls. In particular, Medium control #3 was near Long control #6, and a few teams punch at the wrong one. Remember to check the control number!

A big thanks to my volunteers: "Dante" (both of you), Jen & Daniel, and Michelle and her dad at Start/Finish, Fix N Foot and Randy Hansen at Registration, and Gordon, Yan, and Kathy as canoe wranglers. Thanks also to the Evanston Boxing group and Charlie Shahbazian for control pick-up.
