A-Meet Wrap-up
Despite the terrible weather, hundreds of people had an exhilerating,
fun two days at the Club's first national A-meet since 1998, as
evidenced by the letter
posted on the MNOC web site.
We'd like to congratulate Kathy Bullard and Stefan Spirgi who were
the top Club finishers in the World Ranking Event, in 2nd and 4th
place, respectively.
Top finishers for the 2-days of A-meet included:

Too many Club members to thank individually volunteered to help
during this meet. But special notice should go to our Club President
Carl Larsson who set the courses both days. Carl spent many hours
designing the 14 courses used over the two days. He also visited
each control site several times, scouted out the various approach
views to ensure the competitors would not be confused by unmapped
detail, and then test-ran each leg of each course by different routes.
As a result, the Club received excellent reviews from all, despite
the inclement weather on both days.
Other volunteers who did outstanding service for the Club included
Registrar Michael Collins, Starter Rachel Ashley, T-shirt designer
and Intercollegiate Director Dave Macaulay, Equipment Director Viktor
Nikolenko, Consultant Mike Minium, Awards Marie Larsson, and all
you guys who helped with child care, pre-running and control pick-up
in the driving cold rain after running your courses.
