Warm, Dry Start to Fall Season
Busse Woods North, September 7, 2003
The first regular event of the autumn orienteering season was
more like a
summer event, with clear skies and warm breeze. It was a busy day,
with more
than 300 entries.
Like all CAOC events, this event wouldn't have been possible
without the
help of many volunteers. Working at registration were Tom Knapp,
Beth Gray,
Krista Pospisil, and Dave Macaulay. Jim Marshall, Kyle Ryberg,
and Tom Lok
provided instruction to beginners. Kathy Bullard and Evgen Myronov
spent the
day at the Start/Finish timing table. Edward Prshelilski, Dave
Macaulay, and
Evgen Myronov hung the control markers. Dave Brewer, Brad Lagowski,
and Dave
Macaulay picked up controls at the end of the day. Clark Maxfield
distributed club T-shirts. Michael Collins and Christina Taylor
entered all names and times onto
the club web page. Jim Gordon packed up the meet equipment. Evgen
Myronov
designed the courses and Dave Macaulay coordinated all volunteers.
Kevin
Teschendorf, Joe Sehnal, and Rich Gaylord made the map. In addition
club
vice president Charlie Shahbazian organized the entire 2003 schedule,
president Carl Larsson reviewed the courses, equipment director
Viktor
Nikolenko obtained the control markers and other equipment, and
club
treasurer Bliss Packer provided financial accounting for the event.
Editor
Clark Maxfield will summarize the event in the club newsletter
Chicag-O.
Thank these twenty-two individuals by volunteering for a future
event. With
more volunteer help we can hold more events in 2004. Contact the
secretary to
volunteer.
