Description:
Come out and join us for our last meet of the year! We will have the five standard courses -- White and Yellow for beginners, Orange for intermediate, and Green and Red for advanced. For the advanced courses, e-punch will be used (bring yours or rent one in order to have an official time). The other courses will use regular paper punch.

Special Introduction to Orienteering for Kids!
We will offer a special introduction to orienteering for kids at this meet. Please arrive by 9:20 so that the session can start promptly at 9:30. After about an hour of instruction, the juniors will be ready to try a white course. There is no extra charge for this class -- just register as usual ($5 for members, $8 for non-members.) If you are interested in this course for your kids, please send us an e-mail so that we can have enough maps ready. Thanks!

Courses:
Waterfall Glen East has a well-earned reputation as a "green" map due to the abundance of thick, impenetrable areas. The white and yellow courses mainly stick to trails and open areas--nothing worse than tall grass if you choose your route carefully. The orange course will have a number of areas with high grass, and there will be one or two areas where a little carefully chosen bushwhacking might make a faster route. Green and red runners might want to wear gaiters, as scattered portions of the "white" southeast section of the map have started to re-grow the undergrowth that was cleared not long ago...

Volunteers: We are looking for volunteers to assist with registration, timing, and control pick-up. If you can assist for an hour and a half or so, or if a family member who is not participating would like to help out, please send us an e-mail.

Directions:
Driving:
Take I-55 (Stevenson Expwy) southwest of the Loop 19 miles. Take exit 273A and go south on Cass Ave for 1.5 miles to the Argonne National Labs park and day care center on the east side of the street. Look for the orange and white orienteering sign. Turn left (east) and enter the park; park in designated locations.

Public Transportation:
Bring your bicycle; take Pace bus #381 from the 95th Street Terminal (in the middle of the Dan Ryan Expressway) on the Red elevated line at 8:30 a.m. Get off as the bus turns left at 88th Avenue about 40 minutes later. Bike west on 95th St about 3-1/2 miles to turn left on Archer Avenue. Follow Archer (Hwy 171) southwest to turn right (north) and cross bridge on Hwy 83 at Kingery Expwy. Turn left on 91st St and follow it west until reaching Cass Ave. Turn left on Cass Ave and follow it south to the Argonne park entrance.
